Jan 28, 2013 You are reporting the following post: Can't find HP deskjet toolbox This post has been flagged and will be reviewed by our staff. Thank you for helping us maintain CNET's great community. Solved: i tried to find a place to download the printer toolbox software and it is nowhere to be found! The 'utilities' software is merely - 1292711. I've got an Officejet 5610 All-in-One printer with Vista Home Premium (32-bit). My black cartridge seemed to be acting up, so I tried to follow the instructions in this article. To see the amount of ink in the cartridges. Whenever I try this via the properties of the printer via Control Panel, I see the 'Service this device' button, but all that results in is a pop-up dialog with 'Help with Printer Lights' in the title bar and 'Unable to perform the operation' as the message text. I've even tried to uninstall all the Officejet software, and I downloaded and installed it all again, but still the same results. Trying the other method for launching printer toolbox is no good as I can't find anything called 'HP Director'. Where would I find this? Thanks in advance! I tried to find a place to download the printer toolbox software and it is nowhere to be found! The 'utilities' software is merely a 'let me help you install your printer' program, and my printer is already installed and using the latest driver. So now where am i supposed to find the printer assistant utilities that do cartridge aligning and cleaning and checking of ink levels, etc. I am 100% disappointed in HP's customer support: no chat, noemail, no nothing -- you are left HIGH AND DRY and day after your warranty runs out. It speaks volumes for there level of appreciation for their customers!
